What is attic restoration? Why might I need it?

Due to bat infestation, attic spaces become contaminated and degraded as a result of the bat guano and bat urine. Attic restoration is the process that restores attic spaces to pre-infestation condition.

Of note, the attic restoration process is not always required when bats have been in the structure. Critical factors in making this determination include numbers of animals and length of infestation. How many and for how long. Logically, the larger the colony and the longer it has been in the attic, the worse the condition will be.

In order to understand the condition in your attic, Bat Free is able perform an on site inspection.  The inspection process will identify if bat guano and bat urine are present, how much, and for how long.  It will also determine other key factors- including the type of insulation materials that need to be removed and replaced. Additional levels of service include a germicide treatment of the application of a product that is designed to “shell in” latent odors.

Once the inspection is completed, the inspector will issue a condition report on your attic spaces. They will then provide a written estimate of repair designed to bring the attic back to pre-infestation condition.
